As we promote “Buy Less Buy Better” we often compare our premium denim jackets with leather jackets. Beautiful jackets made out of natural materials, made to become your best friend.
FREDDY Heritage jacket and COR denim blazer
A premium denim jacket is something you don’t buy every year, let alone every season! When you’ve found the right one, it will become more precious and beautiful the longer you have it – just like a good friend. The first ever Amsterdenim jacket was a denim blazer, named COR. It was designed in 2012 by our founder Benjamin Fokkema, who kindly donated his own to our showroom and denim archive on our 5 year anniversary in 2019. A denim blazer embodies our philosophy of making beautiful things with a rugged edge. Things such as a denim blazer, suitable for both the biker and the banker.
The most recognisable jacket we made so far was without a doubt the BEN lumberjacket. A comfortable, soft and warm winterjacket in a beautiful rusty orange check. The checkered pattern made it look rugged and tough. The BEN lumberjack jacket came out in 2018, followed by the blue version in 2019. Not many jackets have their own hashtag. Crossover jackets, shirts and overshirts
Ever since college students in the USA started wearing checkered shirts casually over their t-shirts, often longsleeve shirts, the so-called “overshirt” became a thing. Also called “crossover jacket” or heavy shirt. An overshirt basically is a shirt with side pockets and often in a fabric just a little bit more heavy or sturdy than a regular shirt. A summer jacket looking like a shirt or a shirt, used as a jacket. As shirts traditionally don’t have zippers or side pockets, and jackets traditionally don’t look like shirts, we now call them overshirts. Our most popular overshirt is BERTUS, followed by the RINUS.
FREDDY Heritage jacket
Named after the legendary beer magnate Freddy Heineken, the design of the FREDDY jacket is timeless. Made in Italy with sustainable denim from the famous Candiani Denim mill from Milan. The FREDDY heritage jacket features the iconic Amsterdenim brown logo AOP lining and a subtle triple A branding on the chest. The winter version, with fake fur also known as teddy, was an instant hit. These jackets originally don’t have side pockets as these could harm your silhouette. Upon popular demand, in 2020 there will be a FREDDY TEDDY with side pockets as well. Probably the most special version of the FREDDY denim jacket is the special edition in rare grey selvedge fabric, with the pocket flashet “Delft Blue” art by Amsterdam artist Martijn Krabman lasered on the back.
